Kemistry Gallery

Went into 'dat dere London' on Tuesday. Saw some top posters in Kemistry Gallery in Shoreditch. They're from a Polish company called Homework to promote films and festivals. Great stuff...

I also walked past this park, does it really need a map?...

Decorative Type Designs... my own

Okay, thought I'd post up a bit of what is occupying my every waking thought (and sometimes my unconscious thoughts: the other night I kicked Amy in the shin in my sleep dreaming about whether to have m margins at 8 or 10mm... I need to finish this Masters).

So the project is called 'High Street' and as part of it I have created logos/pictograms of the shops on my chosen High Streets. I've also had a go in the last couple of days at some decorative typeface to use somewhere in the project. I thought I'd make the most of this blog malarkey and share it with whoever is interested... ahem.

These are the first ones I tried, 'inspired' by Michael C Place's poster for the film'Objectified'. The problem with the first two is they're not very clear so decided to use the logos within their square frames allowing me to define the edge of the type.
I still thought the third attempt wasn't as legible as I'd like so decided to use the same square shapes, in black and in a grid. So here's the finished article (I think)...
Still not 100% on it so thought I'd see if anyone's got any views on it?

James Jarvis

This is an animation I've loved for ages so thought I'd post it for prosperity into my blog... it makes me want to run...

Check it...

The Foldable Plug!

This winner of the Brit Insurance Design Awards is truly genius. It's being blogged about a lot and if you haven't seen it yet then I'm sure you will shortly but here's a YouTube link. No more suffering the immensely painful act of standing on an up-turned plug and no more bulges in your laptop bag! Amazing

The Foldable Plug

Thanks to everyone who has spoken good of the website, it means a lot.

New Website!

So my website is finally up and running:
Hope you like it, it's nice to get some of my work out there. As very few people have actually seen it I've yet to see what people in general think about it. If you do get the time to let me know what you think I'd really appreciate it.

I'm nearly ready for full self-employment just waiting for some business cards. I did get some printed the other day but didn't give them a good check before I clicked buy and discovered I didn't put the website on them and I put the wrong email address down!... If anyone is short of some roach/filters I've now got 100 of the buggers going spare.

To celebrate the website launch here's a photo of the worst condom machine in the world...
