Is that a fish in your ear? David Bellos/Penguin Books

Another short one today. I was sent this by Man With A Spade earlier in the week and loved in instantly. It's Sometimes these types of film where the typography of the spoken words is animated can feel a bit cheap and thrown together but this one is wonderful. It helps that the speaker, David Bellos, is very easy to listen to but the animation, the colours and the content are full of charm, wit and imagination. Love it!

The book is out now, published by Penguin Books.

Slow-mo EagleOwl

Just a quick one today. I saw this brilliant clip of a slow motion Eagle Owl today on the HelloVon blog. It pretty much explains itself to be honest

Madge's Book of Cookery

This is my latest find from the local car-boot that's on every week and it was bought for the tidy price of 30p. I love stuff like this that's why I like nothing more than spending a Saturday morning rooting around the different tables with a bacon roll in my hand.

Madge's Book of Cookery features some great adverts in the front and back with some fantastic typography and etchings. It also gives a real insight into how people used to view cooking and cookery books. No arty photos or fat-tongued idiots in a stupid hat, just a cracking recipe for Celery Mayonaise... pukka
